We all know that smoking is injurious or bad for health. Yet, young men and women are found puffing a cigarette and throwing out smoke at the company in which they are. Smoking refers to the process of burning a substance and inhaling the resultant smoke. The major forms of smoking tobacco includes cigarettes, smoking pipes, cigars, etc. A cigarette is a thin roll of tobacco is rolled in a paper. A smoking pipe is a thin tube used to inhale smoke, produced by burning tobacco in a bowl that is attached to it. A cigar is a tight roll of tobacco leaves used for smoking.

There are many different reasons why people choose to smoke cigarettes. Many people start smoking during their teenage years, due to peer pressure and acceptance. Some people begin smoking due to the stress in their lives and are under the misconceived notion that it relaxes them. Others smoke due to the assumption that because their parents smoke, it must be okay. A little common sense would indicate that inhaling smoke cannot be good or healthy for the human body. Cigarettes are highly addictive, both physically and psychologically. Once a person is addicted to and dependent upon cigarettes, it is very difficult to quit. Human body is very vulnerable to harmful effects of smoking, and it can harm our heart, lungs, blood circulation, bones, stomach, mouth, eyes, skin, reproduction and fertility.

Smoking damages your heart and your blood circulation, increasing the risk of conditions such as coronary heart diseases, heart attack, stroke, damaged blood vessels and damaged arteries that supply blood to your brain. Smoking have an increase chance of getting stomach cancer or ulcers. Smoking can weaken the muscle that controls the lower end of your gullet and allow acid from the stomach to travel in the wrong direction back up your gullet, a process known as reflux. Smoking is a significant risk factor for developing kidney cancer, and the more you smoke the greater the risk. Smoking reduces the amount of oxygen that gets to your skin. This means that if you smoke, your skin ages more quickly and looks grey and dull. The toxins in your body also cause cellulite. Smoking permanently ages your skin and by between 10 and 20 years, and makes it three times more likely you’ll get facial wrinkling, particularly around the eyes and mouth. Smoking even gives you a sallow, yellow-grey complexion and hallow cheeks, which can cause you to look gaunt. Smoking can cause your bones to become weak and brittle. Women need to be especially careful as they are more likely to suffer from brittle bones than non-smokers. If you smoke then you are likely to have a stroke than someone who doesn’t smoke. Your lungs can be very badly affected by smoking. Coughs colds, wheezing and asthma are just the start. Smoking can cause fatal disease such as pneumonia, emphysema and lung cancer. Smoking causes 84% of deaths from lung cancer. Smoking is a practice in which a substance is burned and the resulting smoke breathed in to be tasted and absorbed into the bloodstream.

There are many bad effects of smoking related to health, social and psychological level which can harm the life of a person in great detail. Smoking is major health risk, but still people give different reasons for smoking most of these justifications are not very reasonable. Smoking is mostly starts at young age because teenagers think that if they start smoking they will be considered as mature, but of course they are wrong and causing serious health risk for themselves.

Everybody knows the harm of smoking but nobody cares to stop it, this attitude towards smoking should be changed.

Smoking impact on society is beyond health and illness. Smoking regularly impacts the financial resources of smoker especially when people have limited resources.  Smoking is largest preventable cause of unwanted deaths around the world. Smoking cause more than twenty five diseases and most of them are life intimidating, and strappingly suspected to relate to smoking. 

        In conclusion smoking is not only harmful to you but all the people around you. People who smoke have increased their chance of getting heart diseases and lung cancer. Smoking is bad addiction and as soon we can get rid of smoking it's better for people around us. We should reduce the number of people who smoke in our society because it destroys our society from its core. It is absolute necessity to fully understand the harms of smoking and stop it from taking lives of virtuous peoples. The smoking should be quitted by smoker to avoid financial losses the harmful effects of health.

Smoking is one of the most common forms of recreational drug use. Tobacco smoking is the most popular form, being practiced by over one billion people globally, of whom the majority are in the developing countries. Be confident and say ‘no’ to smoking. Stop smoking to save money to stand you in good stead is also a useful motto. Habit of smoking cigarette ends in addiction at last. So, it is the best way of not indulging in smoking is not to smoke the first cigarette. For a socially conscious man, it is not at all a hard job to master sufficient mental strength to turn the cigarette between his lips into the last cigarette of his life because then he can reap some positive harvests of life.

This is, thus, a great menace to health and the upcoming, growing young men must understand the risks involved. They can, well in time learn the lesson and let them not allow themselves to fall a prey to this ‘disease’ – it is really a ‘disease’ which one it catches can aggravate into any proportion.

Life is a gift given by God, let us live it well, let us live it healthily and health is happiness.
